Melamed notes the power of these celebrations in boosting team morale, saying, "While the families came and saw the place where we work and saw what the people, their kids or family members are doing, it gave us a lot of respect and the team were very proud with what they are doing, showing it to their families."

"Ask them to do additional things, which are a bit different. So they continue to do the daily work, but I give them other missions that are not part of their scope and supporting me doing like a market search and engaging them into what we are doing, but differently when the current methodology that they are working on. 

"So for example, if they are doing research and most of the time they work in the lab, I ask them to do like a market research, something.," she explains it further. 

5. Self Reflection is the Key

When facing disengagement, Ophira Melamed advises leaders to start with self-reflection. "Look in the mirror and see what do you reflect to your team. So if you reflect proud with your team and you reflect that you would succeed and do everything. So this is, think the first thing is whatever you shows, they feel it, even if you are not speaking. So this is the first thing. Look in the mirror, honestly with yourself and decide what exactly.," she suggests. 

A leader's mindset and behavior significantly influence their team's morale and motivation. Secondly, she recommends engaging in honest conversations with employees to understand their frustrations and collaboratively identify solutions. Finally, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose through transparency and recognition builds the trust and unity needed to re-engage a team.

Melamed firmly believes that a shared sense of purpose drives engagement. At Nitrofix, employees are continually reminded of their collective mission to combat climate change through innovative solutions. "Purpose is one of our values. it's people, passion and purpose. So the three P's, if we can call it like this," she says. For her, it's not just about financial success but contributing to a cause that impacts the world.
